The “Vibrations and Waves” course provides a detailed introduction to mechanical vibration and wave phenomena. This is a basic module dealing with the oscillations of mechanical systems, which has grown considerably in recent years. It is aimed at second-year Bachelor's students in science and engineering courses.

The “Vibrations and Waves” course has enabled us to develop the techniques needed to solve physical problems in various fields. After studying vibrations with one and several degrees of freedom, it introduces key concepts such as resonance and the phenomenon of mechanical wave propagation. Basic principles and laws are set out and demonstrated in a didactic manner. Useful mathematical concepts and techniques are gradually introduced as required. The physical aspects and applications are fully developed.

Fluid mechanics is the science of the laws of fluid flow. It is the basis for the dimensioning of fluid pipes and fluid transfer mechanisms. It is a branch of physics that studies the flow of fluids, i.e. liquids and gases when they are subjected to forces or constraints. It includes two major sub-branches:

fluid statics, or hydrostatics, which studies fluids at rest. This is historically the beginning of fluid mechanics, with Archimedes' thrust and the study of pressure.
fluid dynamics, which studies fluids in motion. Like other branches of fluid mechanics.
