Control systems are an integral component of any industrial society and are necessary to provide useful economic products for society. Control engineering is based on the foundation of feedback theory and linear system analysis, and integrates the concepts of network theory and communication theory. Therefore, control engineering is not limited to any engineering discipline but is equally applicable for aeronautical, chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

This course is suitable for second-years electrotechnical engineering students. The cours consists of five chapters, the first focus on generalities about signals, the second treat the Fourier analysis (Fourier series and Fourier transform), the third gives the Laplace transform and its application on the signal theory, the fourth chapter gives an idea about convolution product and its application on the linear time invariant System (LTI), finally the last chapter treat the correlation (autocorrelation and cross-correlation) between signals.
