Cell biology is the branch of biology that studies the structure and function of cells, which are the basic units of life. Cells can be classified into prokaryotic cells, which do not have a nucleus, and eukaryotic cells, which contain a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. A eukaryotic cell is composed of different organelles such as the nucleus, which contains genetic material, mitochondria that produce energy, the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus involved in protein synthesis and transport, lysosomes responsible for digestion, and the cell membrane that regulates exchanges between the cell and its environment. Understanding cell structure and function is essential to explain growth, reproduction, and many biological processes in living organisms.

Ce module est conçu pour fournir aux étudiants du niveau L1 SNV une base solide en communication scientifique, tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit. Il s'adresse à tous ceux qui souhaitent développer une compréhension approfondie de la terminologie scientifique et améliorer leurs compétences en matière de rédaction et de présentation de travaux scientifiques. Cette unité d’enseignement vise à améliorer les compétences en communication interpersonnelle et en public et à acquérir une confiance accrue dans la communication scientifique. Ce module aborde également les différentes étapes de la rédaction, de la structure et de l'organisation du texte aux références et à la mise en forme de différents types de documents scientifiques que les étudiants sont susceptibles de rencontrer, tels que le compte rendu, le rapport de laboratoire, le rapport de stage, le mémoire de projet de fin d’études, le résumé, la présentation et la communication. Les étudiants apprennent ainsi à rédiger chaque type de document en respectant les normes et les exigences spécifiques.

This course traces the human understanding of the living world from the earliest recorded history to the present day. Although the concept of biology as a coherent field of knowledge emerged only in the 19th century, the biological sciences are derived from the traditions of medicine and natural history, dating back to the ancient Greeks (in particular Galen and Aristotle, respectively).
