
Course Description
This course provides an in-depth study of medical parasitology, focusing on parasitic diseases of major importance to human health. The course emphasizes distomatoses (trematode infections), toxoplasmosis, and malaria, which represent significant causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
Students will examine the biology, life cycles, transmission routes, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these parasitic diseases. The course highlights their relevance in clinical practice, epidemiology, and public health, particularly in endemic regions.
