This course is designed for 3rd-year Automatic Control Engineering students. It provides students with a deep understanding of maintenance and operational safety by exploring its fundamental concepts and various methods. It covers maintenance strategies, standards, and the main failure mechanisms by analyzing their causes and modes of occurrence. Emphasis is placed on quantitative analysis, including tools such as ABC analysis, Noiret’s chart, decision trees, and the criticality matrix. Students will also learn to perform effective diagnostics using tools like cause-and-effect diagrams, fault trees, and diagnostic charts. Finally, the course addresses predictive failure analysis, enabling the anticipation of failures through data exploitation and feedback analysis.
