This course is designed for First-Year LMD students at the Department of the English Language , at the University of Relizane. It paves the way for students to appreciate literary evolution and gain insights into different cultures and historical periods including, Old English Literature; Middle English Literature; The Elizabethan Literature; and finally, The Rise of the English Novel.
This course is directed to First-Year LMD students at the Department of the English Language. At its core, the course aims to introduce learners to different literary periods that shaped the history of English Literature, including, Old English Literature; Middle English Literature; Elizabethan Literature; and The Rise of the English Novel. The course also seeks to take into study some major works for each literary age. These Literary works almost always respond to the cultural trends of their day, providing insight into historical eras. Knowing when a work was written can also help learners learn about who wrote the work and what life was like for them, as well as what life was like for the people who first read the work in question.

This course enhances students' oral communication skills through various interactive exercises and practical applications. students will engage in activities that foster verbal articulation, active listening, and persuasive speaking. 

This course aims at:

  2.  Developing students’ listening and speaking skills

  3. Assisting students to adapt to different speaking situations.
